Motorists advised to avoid Sanam Luang routes on Saturday afternoon

Bangkok police have advised motorists to avoid routes around Sanam Luang on Rajdamnoen Avenue on Saturday afternoon as the Restart Democracy (REDEM) group plans to rally there from 4pm.

Roads could also be busy tomorrow as the General Aptitude Test (GAT) and Professional and Academic Aptitude Test (PAT) get underway in all districts throughout the capital.

Deputy Metropolitan Police chief Jirasan Kaewsaeng-Ake urged motorists to avoid the following roads from 4pm until the rally ends: Rajini Road, Ratchadamnoen Nai Road, Na Phra Lan Road, Kalayana Maitri Road, Sanam Chai Road, Tai Wang Road, Maharaj Road, Prachan Road, Na Phra That Road.

“Instead, motorists are advised using the following routes: Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, Atsadang Road, Charoen Krung Road Bamrung Muang Road, Rama VIII Bridge, Somdet Phra Phutthayotfa Chulalok Bridge and Phra Pok Klao Bridge," he said.
