Hot day forecast for Bangkok and upper Thailand with isolated thundershowers
A weak southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, the meteorological department said on Saturday.
Isolated thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast for upper Thailand. Weak winds and waves are expected in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf.
The department also said that tropical storm “Choi-Wan” in the upper South China Sea was expected to weaken and have no effect on Thailand.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 28-29 degrees Celsius, highs of 35-39°C.
North: Hot day with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the region; gusty winds are possible in some areas; temperature lows of 24-29°C, highs of 34-39°C.
Northeast: Hot day with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the region; gusty winds are possible in some areas; temperature lows of 25-28°C, highs of 36-39°C.
Central: Hot day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the region; gusty winds are possible in some areas; temperature lows of 25-28°C, highs of 36-39°C.
East: Hot day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the region; gusty winds are possible in some areas; temperature lows of 26-29°C, highs of 34-38°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27°C, highs of 34-37°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 33-35°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
