Thailand records 9,288 Covid-19 cases and 82 deaths on Wednesday

Public Health Ministry reported on Wednesday (May 4) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 9,288 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 20 of whom have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

Death toll increased by 82, while 19,119 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 2,067,389.

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 4,290,824 – 4,153,310 of whom have recovered, 108,654 are still in hospitals and 28,860 have died.

Separately, another 13,903 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 33,990 their second shot and 301,741 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 134,030,976.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 514.69 million on Wednesday, 469.37 million of whom have recovered, 39.05 million are active cases (40,883 in severe condition) and 6.27 million have died (up by 1,827).

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 83.24 million, followed by India with 43.09 million, Brazil with 30.48 million, France with 28.76 million and Germany with 24.95 million.
