Thailand records 7,779 Covid-19 cases and 56 deaths on Friday

Ministry of Public Health reported on Friday (May 13) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 7,779 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 2 of whom have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

Death toll increased by 56, while 9,286 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 2,137,581.
 

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 4,361,016 – 4,255,785 of whom have recovered, 75,864 are still in hospitals and 29,367 have died.

Separately, another 23,082 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 63,583 their second shot and 98,658 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 135,291,382.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 519.78 million on Friday, 474.55 million of whom have recovered, 38.95 million are active cases (39,185 in severe condition) and 6.28 million have died (up by 1,961).

Thailand ranks 24th in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 84.07 million, followed by India with 43.12 million, Brazil with 30.64 million, France with 29.1 million and Germany with 25.67 million.
