U Ohn Kyaing, a Pyithu Hluttaw representative from Maha Aung Myay Township in Mandalay, said that since Suu Kyi was interested in the education sector, she is likely to submit proposals related to educational development. He explained that Suu Kyi wants the youth to be modern and have the ability to think independently and act accordingly. He said she would possibly place more focus on the subject of education in parliament.
The NLD leader also plans to bring up issues about farmers and industrial workers. When asked about the proposals, he declined to publicise what is on the agenda. “It is against the rules,” he said.
On Friday, NLD MP Aung Moe Nyo seconded a motion tabled by Pyithu Hluttaw representative U Aye Mauk that called for a timeframe and adoption of criteria for the enactment of laws covering each sector. He was the first MP from NLD to agree to the proposal.
