SDV, a subsidiary of French transport and logistics group Bollor, is strengthening its Southeast Asian presence through the creation of SDV Myanmar.

To anticipate a strong growth in demand for transport and logistics and to accompany customers in Myanmar’s booming market, SDV is providing services and solutions, with a strong focus on the oil and gas, telecom, healthcare, fashion and retail industries.
In a statement, the company said that the new office in Yangon is in line with its investment and expansion strategy in Southeast Asia, to grow its network in the region.
“As the country moves toward democratic and economic reforms, many of our customers are exploring this region and some of them already took the plunge on investing massively in Myanmar,” said Julien Loiret, General Manager Sales and Development of SDV in Myanmar.
“The opportunities abound, in raw materials such as oil and gas but also in catering the need, from healthcare to telecommunication, of a population of 62 million,” added Elizabeth Shwe, who will be joining SDV Myanmar as a Director.
To meet customers’ expectations and market requirements, as of May 2014, staff from both entities will be joining forces to create SDV Myanmar and hence be geared to face the challenges ahead.
Through a combination of internal growth, acquisitions and strategic alliances, SDV has developed a powerful network spread across 102 countries, with 600 agencies and 35,800 professionals.
It focuses expansion on four key regions - Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
