South Korea president to visit Cambodia in October

PHNOM PENH - South Korea’s president Park Geun-hye will visit Cambodia in October this year, said prime minister Hun Sen.

Speaking in front of 700 civil servants, government officials, and environmental activists in a forum on “Protection and Conservation of Natural Resources”, premier Hun Sen briefly announced the upcoming visit of Park Geun-hye.

In December 2014 during his two-day visit in the Republic of Korea,  premier Hun Sen invited her on behalf of Cambodia's King Norodom Sihamoni to pay a state visit to Cambodia at her appropriate time.

Park Geun-hye will be the third South Korean President who has visited Cambodia, after Roh Moo-Hyun in Nov 2006, and Lee Myung-bak in Nov 2012.

Cambodia and South Korea established their diplomatic ties on Oct. 30, 1997.  Currently South Korean is one of the main donors and foreign investors in Cambodia.
