Managing director Alois Hofbauer said this after the launch of Nestle Malaysia’s e-commerce stores in Malaysia and the company’s month-long e-commerce wellness campaign called “Wellness Together-Gather”.
The nutrition, health and wellness company registered a total turnover of 4.8 billion ringgit in its 2015 financial year. As highlighted by Hofbauer, this year Nestle Malaysia is growing at a rate of 5 per cent, beating the food and beverage (F&B) industry’s overall growth of 2 per cent.
Nestle Malaysia’s flagship e-commerce stores will be the first of their kind among its peers in the Malaysian F&B industry and will be offered in partnership with online retailers Lazada and 11street, the company says.
The online stores will offer nutrition-themed products with discounts of up to 45 per cent, which would translate to almost 1 million ringgit worth of savings for consumers.
Hofbauer foresees that Nestle Malaysia’s venture into e-commerce is crucial in making sure of the company’s long-term sustainability.
“We commenced our e-commerce business barely a year ago and it is growing at a tremendous pace.
“Moving forward, we want to offer not only products, but also good services such as nutritional advice, recipes and healthy lifestyle tips for our consumers,” he said.
Commenting on the anticipated sales volume of its products through the month-long campaign, the company’s communications director, Eugene Chan, said Nestle Malaysia was expecting to double its average e-commerce sales at the very least.
The “Wellness Together-Gather” campaign will run throughout this month and will offer more than 260 product variants from 10 Nestle brands.
“Our campaign is about bringing together the convenience of grocery shopping online, with information on improving your health and those of your loved ones at your fingertips,” Hofbauer said.
