The start of our woes..
For the past few years, Thaksin has never been out of Thai politics.
Unlike most if not all the world leaders, even certain hated dictators who had or had not been elected, when they leave office, they just let politics run its own course.
Thaksin, on the other hand, is determined to stay on in the political spotlight and most of all be above the law regardless of whether such action will damage the country.
Now the entire Shinawatra family is getting involved. One just wonders what politics has to offer to this family if not because of their own personal gain.
Thailand has been suffering both in term of loss of life, and economy because of this one person. As long as with Thaksin's ill-gotten wealth and with his rhetoric lies to woo the support of the uneducated grass-roots, Thailand will remain as it is.... a lawless nation.
The root of the rise this evil can be traced back to the ruling of the Constitution Court back in August 2001 on his asset concealment case.
If indeed the rumour of a certain judge being paid off in Hong Kong to acquit Thaksin at that time was true, this judge should feel remorse as he is the one who helped sow the seed of the rise of this evil and the current division among the Thais must have haunted him.
