Billionaire entrepreneurs promise they’ll have us all soaring through outer space within the next few years, so best get your hair ready. And the hairstyles were really out of this world when Bangkok’s Cut & Curl Salon presented “Sebastian Cosmic Infinities” recently at Muse Thonglor.
Globetrotting stylist Diva Poulos used follicle-nourishing products from Sebastian Professional – specifically Potion 9 and Potion 9 Lite. She’s on the Sebastian Stylist Team USA, which has worked backstage at New York Fashion Week.
First, though, the Cut & Curl crew – Worawit Tunsakul, Surapong Monmitr, Nattamon Poonpangwit and Yuttapichai Onaumpai – got top models Petch and Ploy Euataweekul, Ploy Horwang and Jib Pokchat ready for zero gravity.
Hair went up, sideways and inside out to resemble intergalactic life forms, all with the aid of the Sebastian Cosmic Infinities Collection.
“The colours in this collection reflect the sparkling of the stars in different tones, such as brilliant blonde, orange blonde and copper, to make hair shine with a healthy glow,” Yuttapichai pointed out.
“Every style in this show was created using special cutting and styling techniques, but the idea is to create as many imaginative hairstyles as possible,” Worawit added.
Poulos demonstrated her own wild Solar, Luna and Astral cutting techniques to create “ultramodern and fashionable hairstyles”.
“I get my inspiration from a supernova persona, Harley Viera-Newton, who’s a supermodel, rock star and DJ who’s graced the turntables of New York hotspots with her signature look that is beautiful and different,” Poulos said.
The Solar look is chic and short, with the front undercut and the rest skim-cut with razor blades. The top hair is lightly sliced so it’s easy to move and set.
Luna style is a multiple-length bob formed by “point cutting” the front, straight up with scissors, and trimming the sides from the cheekbones. The resulting curve looks like the crescent moon. Hair at the back is skim-cut thin but remains lengthy.
The models were ultimately launched down a runway in a fashion show arranged by Peewara “Pure” Rueng-Aram, winner of last year’s Thai Supermodel pageant.
