Anyone who is interested in Thailand’s politics should read Somsak Pola’s list of Thaksin Shinawatra’s wrongdoings as alleged by his opponents.
Anyhow, for Somsak to claim that these otherwise serious allegations have not been brought to court because Thailand’s justice system is so bad, and hence Thaksin is good, is laughable.
Any politician who is accused of “treason” and “causing divisiveness” – as included in Somsak’s list – has a lot of soul-searching to do.
Justice is one thing. Social sentiment is quite another.
