Jidapa "Gina" Na Lamliang and her 14-year-old daughter Jida will wrap up their two-month visit to Thailand at the end of August and fly home to the US, but we can expect them back soon.

“Jida’s school starts on August 29 and she has to go back, although she says she enjoys it here,” Gina notes. “Enjoys it” especially since she’s signed a contract with Poly Plus, a sweet by-product of having pop star Jetrin “J” Wattanasin as her father.
“Jida just finished a role in a TV series,” Mum says. “She did well and loves working in Thailand. And she gets along well with her father’s family, so that’s a plus.” Because of the potential here, mother and daughter will consider moving to Thailand.
“She’s pretty, clever and has talent,” says Gina, who’s supportive overall but leery of the press. No interviews for now, she explains – Jida’s Thai isn’t good enough yet and she might be misinterpreted.
And no dating yet, either. “That’s my iron rule. She’s not at the right age to have a boyfriend.” The “right age”, Gina reckons, is 30. Jida will think her mum’s been misinterpreted.

Mums, Part 2
Here’s something Gina can look forward to: Actress Usamanee “Kwan” Waitayanon is giving her mother conniptions with her epic shopping excursions. Kwan tells Instyle magazine that her mum will walk away in frustration when she sees her piling items on the cosmetics counter.
In Kwan’s defence, she only gets to go shopping every three or four months, so she has to make the most of it. In her mother’s defence, she’s the one who ends up with a maxed-out credit card.
Kwan recently went shopping in South Korea and found so many things “affordable” that she had to buy another suitcase to bring all the purchases home.
“And when I arrived at the airport, the customs officers stopped me and asked if I’d bought all this stuff to sell in Thailand.” Obviously they don’t know Kwan like her mum does.
