Not sure if Israel is so rational about Iran

Ref: "The madness is Iran's", Letters, October 5.

Jeff Gepner asks, “Can Israel really afford to trust that the Iranian mullahs are rational?” Irrelevant question. Israel will never trust Iran, even if the mullahs become angels.
Iran is needed as the legendary useful enemy, created by the media. Distort the facts, misquote his words, spread lies about him, depict him as a monster, repeat this millions of times (via Facebook, etc) and you’ll get the useful enemy, the devil on earth. Use him to divert attention from unpleasant facts and the truth. Netanyahu’s speech demonstrated how to use the useful enemy as a mass murderer. Just for the record: Iran has never attacked or threatened to attack another country. Iran has called for the abolition of all nuclear weapons.
The world cannot afford to trust that Prime Minister Netanyahu and his right-wing government are “rational”. They want war, not peace. They fool the world about their nuclear bomb. They build illegal settlements in defiance of international law, but call for more sanctions against Iran. Their secret services murder Palestinians, Arabs and Palestinians in foreign countries, but they complain about aggressive neighbours. Rational?
