The founder's voyages are re-created for the launch of a new blend

Earlier last month, Johnnie Walker Blue Label unveiled its biggest-ever regional campaign titled “John Walker & Sons Voyager”, where the brand brought back vivid memories of its founder’s voyages with a luxury yacht setting sail around Asia-Pacific.

The campaign was created not only to pay tribute to the game-changing history of the Walker family but also to celebrate game-changing individuals who seek a life without limits. And as the yacht journeys through Asia-Pacific, Johnnie Walker Blue Label will recreate one of the first luxury travel guides ever written by the Walker family – “Around the World”.
The event with a sumptuous dinner was carefully conducted with a touch of luxury and refined elements to reflect the image of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The Astor Ballroom was magically transformed into a 1930s European place where the decoration was in a blue theme to reflect Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s opulence and unique style.
But the real magical highlight of the night would be when “John Walker & Sons Odyssey” was unveiled for the first time on stage.
John Walker & Sons Odyssey is new triple malt that channelled Sir Alexander Walker’s vision into a new whisky for a new century combining the skills of the past with the knowledge of today. Inspired by Sir Alexander’s original notes, John Walker & Sons Odyssey provided an expansive, multi-layered experience for such person who have never stopped seeking life with no limits.
Apart from a celebration of this John Walker & Sons journey, the life and work of the late music visionary Rewat ‘Ter’ Buddhinan was commemorated. Rewat was a music producer, an artist and a legendary lyricist who was behind the success of a number of Thai famous artists, and the founding of GMM Grammy. His wife Aruya and youngest daughter Sidarat Buddhinan joined the event in his honour.
Inspired by the original trade routes taken by the Walker family, the yacht is starting its journey from Shanghai, and will reach the Chao Phraya River on December 14, where there will be yet another luxurious celebration.
