When life sends you lemons, make lemonade

Re: "Fear of failure and mockery drives inertia", Letters, December 26.

Of course, only the rich benefited from the first-car policy. Those who objected did so because they could see who would benefit the most. As Somsak Pola says, it was not the government’s poor supporters. Could the government be doing this to show they understand democracy and they need to please the opposition as well? When the act was passed, the detractors followed the adage, “When life sends you lemons, make lemonade”. Who are the rich? The top end of the SET is packed with political families. Is Somsak making a case of self-interest against those members? The car dealers will also have made a lot out of the deal. Did they show their gratitude to their benefactors? Somsak is building up two strikes against the government. Will he go for the third strike?
