It helps keep the astrologers supplied with tarot cards. Popular TV cooking contest “The Iron Chef” will have Supakrit Pathomsriviroj as a special guest this coming Wednesday, the former celebrity astrologer known as Mor Krit Confirm.
He’s supposedly quit fortune-telling in favour of the more lucrative real-estate business, but when the stars call, even star chefs, it’s a destiny he can’t refuse.
According to reports from the set, Suprakit predicts that host Shahkrit Yamnarm (or at least his wife Wirithipa “Woonsen”) will have a baby this year. Well, we’ll keep an eye on that and see if the old shaman can still turn a psychic trick, but it’s a nice, comfy forecast, highly unlikely to generate a lawsuit, whether it proves true or false.
Suprakit ended up in court five years ago after publicly predicting that singer Sansanee “Lydia” Wisutthithada would soon be pregnant. She sued him for being a nosy idiot and the only thing “confirmed” in court was that she was right.
Crappy New Year
Meanwhile over at Super Bantoeng, the entertainment newspaper, two other famous (and still stargazing) astrologers were asked what else Thais might expect in 2013.
International Astrologers Association president Pinyo Pongcharoeng and Sorraja Nual-u, who “somehow” knew in advance a few years ago that bombs would explode during Bangkok’s New Year celebrations, predicted that, basically, we’re all doomed.
Pinyo sees Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra losing her job this year – so no hope for her big brother Thaksin clearing customs at Suvarnabhumi.
Not so bad, some would say, but Sorraja reckons that Yingluck will be the target of an assassination attempt this year – not once but three times, in April, July and October.
Yikes! Nothing else, we hope. Yes, Sorraja says, civil war will break out in March and the baht will be devalued in April. Then an earthquake and tsunami in September, followed in December by Thailand’s first snowfall.
Okay, stop!
