Philips Fidelio M1 on-ear headband headphones provide good music quality with the balance of clarity and solid bass sound.
M1 uses 40-mm high power neodymium magnets to deliver true high definition sound in a wide dynamic range, and thus reproducing good details of sounds.
M1 also uses acoustically sealed construction to keep sound details. The acoustic seal is a specially designed ribbon lock that is built into the internal chamber.
M1 is designed with acoustic closed-back architecture that features a Bass Reflex System designed for optimal acoustic response. With the acoustic seal capture, the closed-back architecture isolates every natural sound detail and delivers precise and dynamic bass with sound clarity.
Its double-layered ear shells are engineered to reduce resonance and to dampen vibration for precise and clean sound.
M1 is designed to keep out ambient noise by using breathable ear pads with memory foam that are designed for optimal ergonomic fit. The foam mould itself to the shape of your ear and seals in bass sounds while keeping out ambient noise.
M1 has in-line microphone with pick-up button so it can be use as a headset for most smart phones. Philips said M1 is compatible with iPhone, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, and Motorola as well as new models of Nokia and Samsung.
And it’s good that M1’s uses fabric-lined cable that is not entangled.
I tested M1 on iPad and Motorola RAZR Maxx and was impressed by the music quality. The headphones really delivered well balanced sounds – powerful and solid bass with details and clarity.
I enjoyed listening to the song “Rock and Roll Train” from the AC/DC album “Black Ice” and found that the bass in the drums and bass guitar were solid and powerful while the high-pitch details of percussion and guitar were clear.
When I listened to “You’ve Got a Friend” on the album “Best Audiophile Voices V” I found that the vocals were clear and beautiful with good bass in the cello and good details in other instruments.
The sound of saxophone on the “Sax for Sex – Beautiful Night” album was very sweet and the guitar bass provided powerful rhythm with good mixes of details from other instruments. I also enjoyed using M1 to listen to “The Best of Sting” album. His bass guitar sounded powerful with all the details of other instruments.
Philips Fidelio M1 retails for Bt7,990.
