Bad as they are, rumours of rice being tainted with chemicals and going rotten will not go away unless the government comes clean and solves the problem it created quickly and in a serious manner.
A simple calculation tells us that the government is still stocking some of the rice harvested two years ago. It’s begun to decompose, so the government is like an infant sitting on its faecal matter. The only way out is to clean itself up quickly – in order to do away with both the bad smell and the embarrassment.
