LEADING SPANISH fashion house Zara has been keeping Bangkok’s young and trend crowd happy for the past eight years and now it’s bringing its home furnishings arm to the capital’s shoppers with the launch two weeks ago of the first Zara Home at Siam Pargaon.
Founded in 2003 by Inditex Group and promoted as new retail concept for urban living. Zara Home now has more than 360 outlets in 39 countries including Japan, China and Russia.
The Bangkok branch, the first in Southeast Asia, is operated by RSH Furnishing Thailand, and offers a wide range of home accessories that aim to keep pace with the city’s real estate boom.
Occupying 360 square metres on Siam Paragon’s first floor, the store is divided into four zones with 70 per cent of the space devoted to textiles for the bedroom, dining area and bathroom and the remainder to furniture, tableware, cutlery and fragrances.
Seven collections designed for the winter months are currently in stock with designs scheduled for weekly updates.
Optical illusions in black and white form the basis of the Graphic Studio theme with striped prints pairing with paisley that’s dotted with red flecks. The Hotel Collection meanwhile showcases old-fashioned monograms on printed silk and satin in white, beige and gold.
The Multiculture theme offers unique patchwork on Oxford stripes, chambray and denim in blue, white, red, lime lemon and yellow. There’s also a range of hand-painted Mediterranean pottery with arasbesque motifs.
The Diva collection goes for the Renaissance look with engravings printed on fabrics to create a vintage style.
The Orient Express line draws its inspiration from the glamorous train, with silk and sheer fabrics printed with flowers and exotic birds.
Shoppers will be impressed by the eye-catching range of products that include bed linen, blankets, cushion covers, curtains, carpets, bins, trays, lamps, photo frames, towels, mirrors, tableware, glassware, fragrance, aromatic candles and slippers as well as outfits for men and women.
There’s also a kids’ corner offering clothes and furnishings on four
themes. Explorer is for the young adventurer with archaeology-inspired graphics interspersed with wild animals and solar system elements while the Showtime collection plays with acrobatic movements and magic tricks to make its clowns, acrobats, horses and dancing elephants look lively.
