Although Vint Chavala did not mention me by name, it’s obvious that his letter solely blaming Thaksin for both coups was a response to a letter of mine published in another newspaper.
But my letter was not about the coups. I simply made the point that, if the problems of the rural poor had not been ignored, Thaksin never would have risen to power in the first place. As much as I dislike Thaksin, blaming all the country’s problems on just one man is absurd.
