Pornanong to defend Thai title next month

World No 33 Pornanong Phatlum will defend her crown in the Bt3-million Thai LPGA Masters due at the par-72 6,390-yard Panya Ramindra Golf Club (Course C & B) between September 3 and 5.

The Thai ace will be competing in her first local tournament since the February’s Thailand LPGA in Pattaya. The tournament will feature several Thai stars including Ladies European Tour member Nontaya Srisawang.
“This year we increased the overall prize money from Bt1.5 million to Bt3 million with the hope that it will give a great boost to our young players to develop their skills,” said Thailand Ladies Professional Golf Association president Patinya Kuantrakul.
The event features three rounds, with the top 40 making the cut for the final round after two days. The winner will take home Bt520,000.
Truevision has live TV coverage of the event during the last two rounds from 11.20am onwards.
