A US agency (Veteran Affairs) made changes to my computerised personal information that stopped my bank direct deposits, as the addresses no longer matched up.
I received a letter more than a month later advising me of the stopped deposits. The letter should never have gotten to me with the altered address – but it did anyway, thanks to Thailand Post – and with only one week between sender and receiver.
US investigators, by the way, are looking into those suspicious address changes.
More than 10 years ago, my mother sent a family heirloom in the mail while I was living in a small village in the Northeast. It took months for that to get to me – again, the address was messed up – but it did finally get to me, fully intact.
As far as I know, Thailand Post has performed wonderfully, if not perfectly, for me for more than 14 years, despite inaccurate addresses.
