A prominent exile should give up politics for good

Ref: "A primer for Thai prime ministers", Letters, yesterday.

Instead of burning the midnight oil poring over a book on ways to succeed as a Thai national leader, I suggest a person aspiring to be a Thai prime minister take this advice:
First, never enter politics for money. Remember a great politician who once said, “I am rich already, there is no way I will turn corrupted”, and later used his powers to change some laws and tweak some state regulations, just to sweeten a certain corporate takeover deal – and made off with Bt73 billion?
Second, think harmony. Always make sure you have not made too many political enemies unnecessarily. If people who love you and despise you are almost equal in number, it means you have gone too far in the wrong direction.
There’s no cure for this unforgivable error. The best way is for you to quit politics altogether.
