We'll "see less"of Nachat thanks to her sword-wielding boyfriend

Nachat Vanessa Muangkod is still getting the most out of life, not just starring in the Channel 8 series "Plerng Phai" as an envious woman but also drawing the envy of other women as the paramour of Doithibet "Mong Toi" Duchanee.

He, like his late father Thawan Duchanee, is an artist, though not yet as great an artist as the old man.
Nachat and Mong Toi met years ago over a few rounds of Japanese martial arts. She was taking karate lessons and he was heavily into aikido, swinging around a big, sharp katana. We’re not sure if they ever actually came to blows, in the friendly competitive sense, but it was only six months ago when they met again by chance and started dating.
The Thai-German beauty tells our sister newspaper Kom Chad Luek that she had no idea who he was back in their fighting days, but when they hooked up she found out soon enough that he’s the son of a cultural legend. Though they’re 15 years apart in age – Mong Toi’s 39 and she’s 24 – her mother is just happy that she’s seeing someone, because it’s “good for her”. Yes!
And they do get along fine, although Nachat says he’s a bit conservative, not wanting her to appear on TV in a bikini, for example – even if that’s what the script says she has to wear. (She calls him “a caring person”, and we’re thinking maybe he cares too much.)
The couple has attended several public events together, such as the recent Ferrari Thailand anniversary bash, but Mong Toi prefers to keep the press at arm’s length, meaning “out of his private space”. Nachat, on the other hand, being a public figure, isn’t fazed by media attention and was happy to fill in the details when asked.

Oodles of Um
Superstar Patcharapha “Um” Chaichua certainly isn’t getting any less popular. She’s just been chosen as the official presenter of Mama instant noodles. Um was perhaps inadvertently auditioning for the gig in recent weeks by posting many, many photos of herself on Instagram eating the snack.
Mama noodles evidently still needs promoting despite the fact that everybody already eats them. The manufacturer has reportedly budgeted Bt200 million for its latest campaign, of which Bt199 million represents Um’s fee.
No, we’re just kidding about that. Other people weren’t, however, to the extent that – while making her initial pitch for the product at CentralWorld – she had to formally deny that she’s getting anywhere near that much. She’s not even getting Bt20 million, she said.
Okay, then, so that means she’s probably being paid at least Bt10 million, which is still a lot of noodles, but we suppose it’s “reasonable” considering that her star power is expected to boost annual sales to Bt10 billion.
By way of earning her keep, Um had to explain why she didn’t attend Araya “Chompoo” A Hargate’s wedding last month. Well, she didn’t want to have to say hi to her old boyfriend, Vises “Note” Rangsisingpipat, whose brother was marrying Chompoo. Um long ago moved on and is currently seeing businessman Phithan “Amp” Ongkhosit – and, no, they have no plans to wed, despite her advancing years (she’s 36). She still feels young and just wants to keep hanging out with her friends.
