Simple arithmetic reveals madness of minimum wage

The minimum wage looks good on paper but doesn’t work in real life.

When a minimum wage was first passed into law in the US, more than 100,000 people lost their jobs.
It is simple: an employer has a fixed amount he or she can pay employees and simply does not have the money to pay more. When the minimum wage is raised, he or she has no choice but to lay off one or more employees in order to increase the pay to others.
