Possible museums

In the interest of education and influencing Thai youngsters to appreciate science and nature, I propose the following museums and theme parks for Bangkok and other Thai cities:

- Science and Nature Park – Thai kids grow up learning all about ghosts and other hocus pocus, but where (in Bangkok or elsewhere) can they learn about real science and nature?
- Archaeology and Ancient History Museum – Yes, there was history before the Buddha and before royalty. Where can Thai youngsters go to see fossils and such? Where can they see and touch various types of rocks and learn about plate tectonics and volcanoes?
- Alternatives and Environmental Theme Park – Learn about recycling and the myriad uses for recycled materials. Become aware of the latest developments in alternative energy. Learn about disposing trash and sewage responsibly. Find out why dugongs and sea turtles are nearly extinct along Thailand’s shores and what can be done to save them. Similarly, find out why there are essentially no wild mammals left in Thai forests larger than a rat, and what can be done to bring back some natural habitat. How many Thai kids know what Thailand looked like 50,000 years ago?...or 50 million years ago?
If I was one-thousandth as rich as the Charoen or Shinawatra families, that’s what I would devote funds toward.
