Firstly, his role as defender of Judaeo-Christian values could lead to bans on same-gender marriages, discrimination against gays and transgenders and a ban on abortion, with a resulting spike in violence against pro-abortion doctors and mothers seeking a termination. Is this the morality we would like to see in the next president of the United States?
Second, his supporters claim Trump is a bastion against “Orwellianism” in Europe. They appear to have misunderstood the theme of George Orwell’s “1984”, which depicts a dictator who reigns supreme under the slogan “Big Brother is Watching You”. By contrast, European governments hold up freedom of expression as a near-sacred virtue. The single exception is Russia, whose authoritarian leader, Vladimir Putin, Trump regards as a role model.
Last but not least is Trump’s unhealthy mindset. By repeatedly insisting that he is the greatest, the cleverest, the best negotiator, etc, he displays nothing more than an inferiority complex, and it’s underscored when he insults women (“fat cows” and bimbos”) and Mexicans (“rapists” and “criminals”). Add to this that Trump would like to kill the families of terrorists, reintroduce waterboarding, forbid Muslims from entering the US and punish women who have an abortion, and a very ugly picture emerges.
