Tougher economy might help build immunity

Re: “The beauty (to some) of economic slowdown”, Streetwise, May 10.

When it comes to the issues of “mouth and stomach”, no one wants to see times of economic slowdown. As raised by Achara Deboonme, this “beauty” makes us realise the truth – that the economy is not always prosperous.
Since we cannot avoid the economic slowdown, how can we best cope with it? Although there is no fixed formula for resolving the slowdown, it might indicate a better solution for living and doing business – more relaxed amid the economic stress.
So an economic slowdown isn’t that bad. Perhaps it will even help is build up immunity for dealing with economic hardships.
