Eric Bahrt once again gave me a big laugh when he accused me of protecting my own self-interest in my letters, rather than representing the Thai people.
I am a full-blooded Thai who has punctually paid all taxes due for the past 45 years. I am a law-abiding citizen and have never borne any ill will against my own country – not even once.
In a land where more than 90 per cent of politicians cheat on their taxes, if I am not qualified to speak out for the country, who is?
The funniest thing about all this is that Eric feels that only he, a total stranger in this country, can speak of it in any way he chooses – yet I can’t.
How about taking the high road for once, Eric?
