Tirawat Wins Maiden Title in Surat Thani.
Khon Kaen-born Tirawat Kaesiribandit lifted up his maiden title following a convincing five stroke victory over Poom Saksansin in the BT3 Million Singha SAT Championship at the Rajjaprabha Golf Course in Surat Thaini on Saturday.
The 27-year-old Tirawat carded eight birdies against three bogeys for a final round 66 and a four day total of 17-under-par 267 at the picturesque par 71 6,768 course.
“I was so overwhelmed to finally have a title of my own. I was a bit excited in the later stage but after I birdied on the 15 th I knew I could win this because of the big lead,” said Tirawat who won the winner’s prize money of BT435,000.
“I was putting well all day and made very few mistakes. I have to thank Boonchu Ruangkit and his wife for giving me opportunity to be where I am now and to all my sponsors for supporting me,” said Tirawat.
Five shots off the lead was young gun Poom who carded an ending 65 for a total 12-under-par 272. He would return home BT255,000 richer from the runner-up’s prize money.
AT joint third were Settee Prakongvech and Jazz Janewattananond, each with a final 67, and a total 272.
