Tickets for the five home ties in the third and final Asian qualifying round for the 2018 finals in Russia went on sale as a package yesterday but many fans were left frustrated by the collapse of the website.
Fans made their frustration clear on the House of Ticket’s Facebook fanpage that was quickly inundated with strongly-worded messages after the company failed to keep its word that there would be no crash of the system.
“House of Ticket would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and we’re sorry for failing to set up the system to cater to the huge demand from the fans who wanted to buy tickets. There was some delay in booking. The company has detected the problem and has been trying to solve it,” read the statement.
The arrival of the company, who won the ticket-selling rights for Thai team’s matches earlier this year, also did little to eliminate ticket touting, with five-match package priced at Bt2,500 being sold seven times higher than its value on resale websites.
In the decisive World Cup qualifying round, Thailand have been drawn in Group B alongside Asian champions Australia, traditional powerhouses Japan and Saudi Arabia and the other two Middle East nations, Iraq and United Arab Emirates.
The Kingdom begin their campaign with a trip to Saudi Arabia on September 1 before hosting Japan five days later.
