US needs pragmatic and brave leader like Trump

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2016

Letter writer John Arnone has reached the “conclusion” that a man who has built an international real-estate empire and is the Republican nominee for president is a moron – in other words, mentally defective.

This assertion seems based on the fact that he, Donald J Trump, while in show business, was innocently caught in private locker-room banter. Unknown to Trump at the time, Billy Bush, the cousin of Jeb Bush, had a live microphone nearby connected to a tape recorder. The tape surfaced, perhaps not coincidentally, a matter of days prior to the presidential election, in a failed attempt to destroy Trump’s campaign. Arnone states the Trump was “stupid enough to allow it to be taped”.
Perhaps his comments against Trump would more appropriately be directed at people who are influenced by such irrelevant trivia. Relevant to the well being of the US is the economy and the geopolitical blundering of the State Department and overall government incompetence. There is little doubt that the US has been in a state of decline for some time, economically, militarily and socially. The recent email scandal involving former secretary of state Hillary Clinton and the relating collusion between Clinton, the Department of Justice, the FBI and the White House itself, has made a complete nonsense of the rule of law.
Donald Trump is a true patriot. At risk of assassination he stands alone against these massive, albeit corrupt, odds. With no political experience, he succeeded in outwitting 16 Republican candidates in the primaries, including establishment favourite Jeb Bush.
Donald Trump has the support of the grassroots people who are hungry for change. The US needs a pragmatic leader with common sense and resolve, but, above all, courage. Donald J Trump is that man.
The whole of western civilisation desperately needs a strong, stable US to maintain the right of sovereign states to exist and that will seek dialogue with Russia not war.
