Levi's go back to the future with denim jackets guaranteed to please

DKSH (Thailand) is celebrating the season of giving with the launch of the new Levi’s Holiday 2016 “Better Together” campaign.
The focus is not so much on the jeans themselves but more on mixing and matching the denim separates, according to DKSH (Thailand)’s marketing director of fashion apparel Wannapanee Dasananjali.
“Better Together is really about mixing and match Levi’s jeans, T-shirts and shirts, and Levi’s jackets and skirts. Better Together is like a couple of friends staying close during holidays. In the US and Europe, we are offering a sheepskin version of the Levi’s jacket and the women wear it over skirts or long dresses. This was really trendy among American teenagers in the past and is now coming back. During this holiday period, we have many jackets in stock – Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3. Each has a different look. In short, it’s the season of the Levi’s jacket.”
Levi’s began producing jeans way back in 1853 and broke into the world of jackets in the early 1900s. After launching the Type One, a simple one-pocket, cinch-back model, Levi’s decided to lose the cinch-back and add on a second chest pocket a few decades later, thus creating the Type Two. Further tweaks to this style led to the Type Three in 1962. The Type Three, known as the Truckers Jacket, went on to become the most iconic of all Levi’s denim jackets, with triangular pointed pocket flaps running down each side as an informal signature. This pointed pocket style influenced the style of Levi’s jackets in future decades.
“Levi’s Truckers Jacket just celebrated its 50th anniversary. It has waist straps with four studs on the back for a perfect fit,” Wannapanee says.
