Small speaker with big performance

LG has released a small, portable Bluetooth speaker that packs a lot of punch with style.
The PH1 has a footprint of only 81 x 88 x 82 mm and weighs just 1.9 kg, but its 5 watts of output power is more than enough to enjoy music at your desk or in a small bedroom.
The PH1 uses one-driver design to generate a 360-degree sound effect that can fill a room rather than having to sit directly in front of the speaker to get the most enjoyment.
The speaker apparently uses air in the cylinder as a passive radiator to amplify bass and the wall of the unit is transparent to show eight LED lights, which are used for the LED Mood Lighting function. The lights change automatically from white to green and to red in rhythm with the music.
The speaker has a 700 mAh rechargeable Li-Polymer battery that needs three hours for a full charge. The battery can power the unit for up to five hours through a micro-USB port.
The PH1 can be connected to your smartphone or tablet using a Bluetooth connection and it uses SBC codec for streaming music. It supports Bluetooth 3.0 and is compatible to A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile).
The unit also has a 3.5mm stereo jack to connect to players that don’t have Bluetooth connection. Once the PH1 is connected to your smartphone or tablet, you can use the play/pause button, forward button and backward button to control music playback.
Apart from serving as a Bluetooth speaker, the PH1 can also function as a handsfree speaker for your smartphone. When your phone rings, you can press the phone button to receive the call or twice to reject it. During the call, you press it to end the call. When the phone is not ringing, you can press the phone button twice to redial the last call.
I found the PH1 was amazingly loud for its compact size and it had enough bass to enjoy rock music. The music could easily fill my bedroom with quality sound and good music details.
LG PH1 has a suggested retail price of Bt1,490.
