Donald Trump protesters displaying Thai mentality

MONDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2016

I think expats who are whining about Donald Trump winning the election have been living in Thailand too long and have picked up the Thai mentality: “If a thing goes my way, it is just. If not, it’s unjust.”

Allow me to scream for one last time that the US presidential election is won and lost on electoral votes, not popular votes, period! (Full stop for you Brits.) It has been this way since the first one in 1788, and it always will be, unless they change it – which is possible, though not probable. Now, it’s over, mun job laew, owarimashita, c’est fini, se acabo, es ist aus, het is voorbij. Get over it. Rain or shine, Trump will be the 45th president of the United States.
Well, unless he croaks before January 20. (No, Eric, don’t even think about it.)
