More fatuous fluff

True to form, JC Wilcox provides little, if any firm analysis to support his fatuous proclamations from his well-known position as waffling armchair theorist.

As entertaining as this amateurism may be, it unfortunately evades the hard analysis required to correctly diagnose the problems that beset the world, and the sensible remedies required to balance the arrangements of international discourse. Trump crudely driving a coach and horses through established diplomatic protocols provides irrefutable proof of this lamentable disregard for civilised behaviour – don’t take my word for it, examine the verifiable facts. There is mounting evidence of this, and Wilcox really should take off his blinkers, not be regularly taken in by naked Trumpite propaganda, and engage with the realities of international relations in the contemporary era.
As for citing the irrelevant aspects of 18th century political philosophy to national safety in a currently far more hostile world, what an exercise in
futility.
Moreover Trump, by virtue of his bellicose rhetoric, is proving to be a Heaven-sent gift to jihadi extremists and is the best recruiting sergeant they’ve had for years. So much, then, for Trump’s nonsensical ‘first priority’ to protect the liberty (and by extension safety) of Unites States citizens as described by Wilcox. These are seemingly acceptable sacrifices on the altar of the man’s hubris, probably reflected in his abysmal approval ratings too. It is by now apparent that Trump has little, if any grasp of the nuances of diplomatic interchanges, so vital to maintaining the structures of global security that affect us all.
Wilcox does not address these glaring lacunae that have consistently flawed his arguments on a regular basis, as many letter writers in these pages have conclusively shown. Pity, as I would have looked forward to a much more mature discussion in that regard.
