To celebrate the International Women’s Day on March 8, the UN Women’s #HeForShe Arts Week is scheduled from March 8 to 15 at the Bangkok Art and Cultural Center (BACC) with a number of initiatives related to arts and culture to mobilise broad support for gender equality.

"We are witnessing a momentum that represents a unique opportunity to position gender equality at the heart of the global agenda", says Alejandro Hita, HeForShe regional campaign coordinator. “With this wave of support from people, popular influencers, public and private organisations, the HeForShe movement will continue to engage with everybody, as equal partners, to become agents of change towards the achievement of gender equality”.
On March 11, corporates, non-profit organisations, and influential individuals will come together for a sub-event called "Together for Women’s Day". Among participating figures are Metinee Kingpayome, Theetawit Setthachai, Pimpaka Siangsomboon, Natalie Glebova, Amita Marie Young, Shannon Kalayanamitr and Chatadul Sinapongpipit. Free educational and artistic workshops in Thai and in English will also be held. Seating is limited.
Aiming to inspire, entertain and educate, the workshops cover topics as varied as “Self-improvement for greater gender equality” by Grab, “Work/Life Balance” by Global Shapers, "Communicating with Confidence" by Connecting Founders, "Healthy Eating" by nutritional counsellor Olga Vita, and "Childbirth Education" by the doula, Rasee Govindani.

The artistic agenda includes performances of dance and theatre by B-Floor, spoken poetry by Bedroom Poet and Neil Gaiman's Blueberry Girl by Anna Manuel of Heads and Tales Storytelling. The workshop schedule and registrations will be released progressively on the Facebook page “Together for Women’s Day”.
