Thais are not the only tourists to follow this trend and Dr Toshiyuki Masubuchi, a professor at the Hosei Graduate School of Regional Policy Design and president of the Academy of Contents Tourism, has made it his business to delve deeper into the subject.
Now he’s coming to the Japan Foundation and will be holding a casual talk on Japan called “J-Talk: Diggin’ Culture#02” on June 17 at 2.
Masubuchi has been actively researching and writing books using the keywords “Japanese pop culture”, “Tourism” and “Region” from various perspectives and will explain the fascinating world of Contents Tourism in Japan. Taking the animation hit “Your Name.” and other anime stories as examples, he will reveal how the development of digital contents has affected this form of tourism in Japan and how “Contents Tourism” can play a role in revitalising local economies.
The talk is open to public with free admission. Advanced reservation is highly recommended via phone at (02) 260 8560-3 or e-mail at [email protected]
