Mom will love Marimekko
Known and loved for its screen-printed fabrics, Finnish brand Marimekko is marking Thai Mother’s Day with a range of fabulous items from its Pre-Fall 2017 collection.
Creative Director Anna Teurnell and her team were inspired by Finnish art, architecture, folklore and the mysticism of national epic poem “Kalevala” for the colours and prints that make up the new collection of ready-to-wear and accessories.
Now in stock at Marimekko stores and online are the Minea shirt in an Unikko print, Riikka trousers with an Aita print, Veine turtleneck, Ruusa shirt, Eimi skirt and Reija dress in a Simpukka print and Wiera shoes. The jewellery line features Deka and Sade earrings and plenty more to please.
For the busy mom, there’s a sturdy shopping bag made of heavyweight cotton canvas with a zipper closure, handles and an adjustable and removable shoulder strap as well as the Pikku Veljekset apron in pink, black and brown and sprinkled with Finnish forest animals. It comes with the cute oven mitten made of cotton with a polyester filling.
