World paying the price for US policies

Re: “How the KKK’s racism embraced Nazi iconography” (Opinion, The Nation, Aug 18).

White wrote, “While both the Confederacy and Nazi Germany waged wars to defend white supremacy, these two symbols were mostly kept apart for decades after WWII.”
In this case, White overlooks the Ukrainian coup in 2014, which overthrew democratically elected President Viktor Yanukovich. An intercepted phone call between US under-secretary of state Victoria Nuland and the US ambassador to Ukraine showed US involvement in the coup.
Nuland was quoted as telling the ambassador to continue to “midwife” the coup and make sure the US-picked candidate for leader was successful: “Yats is our guy,” she said, and to hell with the EU.
Immediately after the neo-Nazi killings in Maidan Square, the government was gone and replaced with neo-Nazi politicians. In fact, the KKK flag and the Nazi flag, among others, draped the interior walls of parliament.
I guess, once again, the chickens have come home to roost. The US “midwifed” the mujahadeen-al Qaeda-ISIS franchise that is now worldwide.
There are bound to be adverse consequences from how the US conducts its foreign policy and it affects everyone on this planet.
