The Transparency Grand Prix are awarded following the results of the Transparency study, carried out each year through the public financial documentation of the French SBF 120 listed companies.
“We are proud that the Transparency Grand Prix’s independent scientific committee chose our Code of Ethics to inaugurate this new prize. L’Oreal and all its employees are honoured to learn that this founding text, essential for our Group, is so recognised,” says Jean-Paul Agon, chairman and chief executive officer of L’Oreal.
“The future of corporate communication will necessarily depend on integrated financial, extra-financial and ethical information. Based on applicable regulation, such information must be pedagogical and transparent. The quality and clarity of its Code of Ethics clearly makes L’Oreal a pioneer and leader in this respect,” added Laurent Rouyres, president of Labrador, the organiser of the Transparency Grand Prix.
L'Oreal’s Code of Ethics is the reference document, the "Constitution" that guides action, inspires choices and brings the Group's ethical principles into the daily professional life of every employee. It applies to all employees of the L’Oreal Group and its subsidiaries worldwide. It also applies to all officers and directors of the L’Oreal Group and its subsidiaries. Each employee has access to the digital version of the Code or receives a printed copy when joining the Group.
L’Oreal was one of the first companies in France to establish a Code of Ethics. First issued in 2000, the Code was updated in 2007 and in 2014. More than 300 employees and executives have contributed to the elaboration of the new edition of the Code.
The Code of Ethics sets out the rules of good conduct that are expected from L’Oreal employees. It is available in 45 languages. It is also published in braille in an English and a French version.
