Opal ends Miss World reign in SIRIVANNAVARI silk gown

Opal Suchata gave her farewell speech and crowned her successor at the 73rd Miss World Grand Final in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on September 5, 2026.

More than 108 metres of Thai silk went into the custom-made SIRIVANNAVARI gown worn by Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri as she brought her reign as Miss World 2025 to a close.

Opal delivered her farewell speech and completed her final walk during the 73rd Miss World Grand Final in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on Saturday (September 5, 2026), where she officially crowned her successor.

The white strapless evening dress was created especially for her farewell, using silk from the SUPPORT Foundation. Its design drew inspiration from gowns worn by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, whose promotion of Thai textiles helped bring them international recognition.

Her appearance drew attention among pageant fans for details rooted in Thai art, traditional craftsmanship and textiles.

A peacock-inspired silhouette

Work began with a new pattern developed specifically for the dress. Its sculpted silhouette, shaped closely around the body, took inspiration from a peacock spreading its tail, one of SIRIVANNAVARI’s signature symbols.

Artisans from SIRIVANNAVARI Atelier & Academy embroidered the gown by hand, arranging crystals, glass beads, other beads and sequins into peacock motifs that blended with the silk. The embellishments created a sculptural, three-dimensional effect.

As Opal moved across the stage, the embroidery caught the light, bringing out the depth and detail of the peacock design.

Thai artistry and beauty with a purpose

The farewell look carried a cultural theme alongside its fashion elements, presenting Thai fabrics, art, craftsmanship and the spirit of Thai women on an international stage.

That emphasis echoed Miss World’s “Beauty with a Purpose” ethos, which sees beauty as a means of creating value for society and helping others, rather than simply a matter of appearance.

Opal completed the ensemble with jewellery from Beauty Gems, combining fine gemstones with Thai artistry and the skills of Thai craftspeople.
