An open Letter to General Prayut

As a long time Friend of Thailand,  selected and appointed as such by a chosen Thai government, I salute you and at the same time I wonder how you, who came to power to bring back some discipline, are going to make Thailand once again the safe place it once was.
Is not it odd that Thailand and Egypt now compete for the number one position as the world’s most undisciplined and thus most unsafe country when it comes to road traffic, with the highest death rates worldwide? So many promising young lives tragically cut short. Both countries are notably run by their military, by their most disciplined! Is this okay with you, General? What is your plan?
Other than this I could not agree with you more: also the Thai roads leading back to democracy may be full of dangerous obstacles, in the end democracy is a wonderful phenomenon. Even better when eventually all Thai citizens can experience it alive and well.
