The West should fix its own problems before crying about ‘undemocratic’ China
I was very surprised to see a flood of comments about China’s decision to abolish presidential term limits.
The Western media are acting as if a lengthened stay in power by President Xi Jinping will break the world.
Western democracy may seem smart and civilised, but it may not suit Asia’s largest country. As the great Deng Xiaoping famously said, it doesn’t matter whether a cat is black or white so long as it catches mice. The ruling Communist Party (which is undemocratic in the opinion of the West) has been driving China to prosperity for a decade while European and American democracies are going bankrupt.
Protect your own people from mass shootings, freezing to death and starvation before you focus so much concern on this huge country.
