Recent letters about overcrowding at the Jomtien Immigration bureau are fair up to a point. However, as regards parking, there is a huge open area opposite the building that charges a Bt40 daily fee.
It is true that the premises are too small to cope in the high season, which is now ending. But that’s not an issue throughout the summer months.
Most long-term foreign residents, by the way, know to avoid (if they can) the place on Mondays, Fridays and any other day following a public holiday.
It’s sad that JC Wilcox feels like a harassed prisoner queuing for his breakfast, but he can always take along a packed lunch.
