Unpalatable suggestions being rammed down our throats

Unpalatable suggestions being rammed down our throats

Even during the festive season we are not spared more irritating moralising from a vegetarian and animal-rights triumvirate.

First on her high horse was Jenny Moxham trying, and I am sure failing, to ruin our Christmas dinners by describing the turkeys on our tables as “corpses”.
Yes, Jenny, we know it’s a corpse, but we don’t care.
Then Diane Cornelius informs us that scientists are developing “food” from animal and plant cultures, but why?
I am sure that we carnivores would not regard chunks of disgusting gloop originating in a petri dish as acceptable substitutes for lip-smacking delights such as liver and bacon or steak and kidney pie.
Finally, Eric Bahrt welcomes in the New Year by telling Buddhists that they could not vote for Donald Trump, although why he considers himself qualified to lecture Buddhists on what is politically permissible for them I cannot imagine.
Anyway, in a spirit of goodwill I wish everyone a Happy New Year, especially the Nation staff responsible for compiling Have Your Say. They have a tough job wading through daily offerings ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, and everything in between.
