It wasn’t the junta that blacked out BBC and CNN
Re: “Tips for the junta on censoring English-language news”, Have Your Say, May 7.
Ye Old Pedant blames the junta for censorship of his CNN and BBC news.
While it is fashionable to blame the military regime for everything that we do not like – and sometimes they do deserve the blame – in this case the censorship was done by the TV service provider.
I subscribe to a Thai-based provider whose channels include both CNN and BBC news, and there has never been any sign of censorship.
So I suggest that Ye Old Pedant consider changing his TV service provider.
