SIRIVANNAVARI’s ceremonial uniforms for Thailand’s Asian Games 2026 team featured on large digital billboards in Tokyo’s Ginza, Shinjuku and Shibuya districts on Wednesday (September 16, 2026), alongside displays of Thai national dress.
Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, creative director of SIRIVANNAVARI, designed the uniforms under the concept “The Art of Unity” for Thailand’s athletes competing at the Games in Nagoya, Japan.
Princess Sirivannavari also modelled the uniforms for the promotional campaign, with images of the princess appearing on the screens across the three Tokyo districts.
Thailand’s Ministry of Culture will hold “Chud Thai: Knowledge, Craftsmanship and Practices of the Thai National Costume” at the Hyokeikan building of Tokyo National Museum on September 17–18, 2026.
The Tokyo billboard displays also feature Chud Thai Phra Ratchaniyom, or royally favoured Thai costumes, ahead of the ministry’s event to introduce the costume and its cultural heritage to international audiences.
Princess Sirivannavari is scheduled to preside over the Chud Thai Phra Ratchaniyom fashion show on Friday (September 18). Culture Minister Sabeeda Thaised will travel to Tokyo to attend the event and promote Thai national dress internationally.
The Tokyo presentation forms part of Thailand’s efforts to secure intangible cultural heritage recognition for Chud Thai from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The nomination covers the knowledge, craftsmanship and practices associated with Thailand’s national costume, with consideration expected in December 2026.
The Chud Thai initiative follows Princess Sirivannavari’s efforts to preserve, develop and promote Thai cultural heritage, building on the work of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
