Thai teenage singer Nene Royal left Phuket for the United States on Wednesday (August 19), beginning her journey to compete in the second live quarter-final of America’s Got Talent Season 21 on August 25.
The 16-year-old Phuket musician, whose real name is Rattikarn Amloy, departed from the international terminal at Phuket International Airport with her father, Narong Amloy, her mother and her younger brother. They flew with Bangkok Airways to Suvarnabhumi Airport before continuing their journey to the United States.
Her departure was a low-key affair, with no crowd of fans gathering at the airport. Members of the media were there to cover her journey and offer their encouragement.
Nene expressed confidence ahead of the competition after spending most of each day rehearsing. She is determined to give her best performance and appealed for support from fans, particularly relatives and supporters in the United States.
She also thanked those who have followed her progress and continued to send messages of encouragement.
The live shows mark a critical stage of the competition, with contestants performing before an audience and facing public voting for places in the next round. Nene hopes to improve on her performances in her previous two appearances and draw extra energy from the audience’s support.
Narong thanked those who have supported and expressed concern for his daughter, adding that he would continue to look after her closely.
For this round, the family has drawn on the experience gained from Nene’s previous two appearances to plan her preparations. Narong also revealed that they have a surprise in store for the upcoming performance.
Before leaving Phuket, Nene again asked fans to send their support and cheer her on. She also urged relatives, friends and supporters in the United States not to forget to vote for Nene Royal during the crucial round.
Nene is scheduled to compete in the second live quarter-final on Tuesday, August 25, US time, which falls on Wednesday, August 26 in Thailand.
