Thai rocker Nene Royal, 16, is making her voice-acting debut as Billie in the Thai-language version of Disney’s Hexed, which opens in cinemas across Thailand on November 26, 2026.
Nene, whose full name is Rattikarn Amloy, takes on the role after gaining international attention through America’s Got Talent in 2026.
Hexed is a fantasy adventure from Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind Frozen and Zootopia.
“Because Billie is the same age as me, 16, I feel I can relate to her very well,” Nene said.
Nene said she felt both delighted and excited about being chosen for one of the main roles in a major Disney animated film. The role calls for her to convey Billie’s dreams, courage and growth, aspects of the character in which she sees similarities to herself.
“Conveying all of the character’s emotions, thoughts and personality through my own voice is something I have never done before,” Nene said of playing Billie. “I’m very excited to take on this challenge and determined to do my best to bring Billie to life as vividly as possible.”
In Hexed, impulsive teenager Billie accidentally unleashes newly discovered magical powers, leaving her familiar suburban world for the vast witch realm of Hexe. The unconventional heroine must team up with her careful, cautious mother Alice, and the pair uncover family secrets that could change the world of witches forever.
Hailee Steinfeld provides Billie’s voice in the original English-language version of Hexed, while Rashida Jones voices Alice.
Hexed is directed by Fawn Veerasunthorn and Jason Hand, with Josie Trinidad as co-director and Roy Conli serving as a producer.
Hexed opens in cinemas nationwide on November 26.
